Sarmiento 450, Bahía Blanca, Buenos Aires, Argentina
The Museum of Contemporary Art (MAC) of Bahía Blanca, inaugurated on April 11, 1995, was the first museum in the interior of Argentina dedicated exclusively to contemporary art manifestations. It is located at 450 Sarmiento Street, in the historic María Luisa house, a construction from the twenties designed by the architect Guido Buffalini.
The MAC has six exhibition halls, a large terrace and gardens surrounding the building, where concerts, performances and plays are regularly scheduled. It is currently in the process of being expanded to incorporate a large exhibition hall, auditorium, warehouses, cafeteria and bookstore.
