This beach lies on Ezequiel Bustillo Avenue to the right towards the South, at the 8th kilometer marker. It may be reached whether on a private vehicle or by bus (lines 20, 21 or 10).
This rest area is visited everyday by countless local residents and tourists who love water sports or just wish to spend a relaxing day on the pebble beach. At the facilities of the old jetty, there are snack bars, restaurants, canoe and kayak rental stores and a windsurfing and SCUBA diving school. Visitors may enjoy the sunshine, the wind and the water as they practice some of the specialties at this spot. Those who choose kayaking should wear a wetsuit and the spraydeck that prevents the water from entering the boat. It is usual to paddle up to Huemul Island, which lies 1,200 meters off shore, or to Gallina Island.
Another possibility is windsurfing. In order to enjoy this activity, visitors must have the necessary equipment to get into the cold waters of Lake Nahuel Huapi, a special setting for the development of this sport, due to the continuous winds that hit the region. In order to practice SCUBA diving, it is recommended that sportsmen should contact the people in charge of the SCUBA diving school based in this beach. They provide information about special sites to enjoy this sport and offer a submersion tour at Gallina Island. The pebble beach is ideal to enjoy beautiful moments with the entire family or with friends until the sun sets. When the weather is warm in San Carlos de Bariloche, we do not hesitate to go onto this cozy nook, a few kilometers way from the downtown area.
