Elcano y Alberdi, Río Gallegos, Santa Cruz, Argentina
The Los Pioneros Museum, located in the Casa Parisi in Río Gallegos, is an emblematic site that takes visitors back to the early days of colonization and development of the Patagonian region. The house, built at the end of the nineteenth century, was inhabited by one of the pioneer families that contributed to the growth of the city and the establishment of life in the southern area of Argentina.
The museum, in addition to being a valuable architectural heritage, houses a vast collection of historical objects that illustrate the daily life of the first inhabitants of the region, from tools and furniture to cultural elements that reflect the traditions of the pioneers. The exhibits tell the story of immigrants who came to the region in search of new opportunities and how their efforts contributed to the construction of the city of Río Gallegos.
