The Historic House of Governor Juan Manuel Gregores, located at Alcorta 475 in Río Gallegos, is an emblematic museum that offers an in-depth look at the period in which Juan Manuel Gregores served as governor of the National Territory of Santa Cruz between 1932 and 1945.
This house, built with typical materials of the time such as wood and zinc sheet, was part of the first housing complex in the city, known as the Barrio de la Gobernación.
Inside, the museum houses a collection of photographs and objects illustrating Gregores' management, highlighting his efforts in the creation of a vast communications network that included radio communication systems and the aerial chasqui, as well as in the execution of public works aimed at improving the quality of life in the 1930s and 1940s.
