Nautical safari

The day starts early. From El Calafate, the road winds through the Patagonian steppe until it reaches the "Bajo de las Sombras" pass, on Route 11, Km 70.9. As we get closer, the expectation grows. The air feels colder and the excitement is palpable.

Once at the port, we board the boat that will take us to sail on Lake Rico. Minutes after setting sail, the imposing south wall of the Perito Moreno Glacier appears before us.

Its size defies any attempt to describe it in words. Around it, huge icebergs float adrift, as silent witnesses of its movement. The navigation lasts one hour, enough time to immerse yourself in this natural spectacle from a unique perspective. As we approach, the glacier reveals its bluish hues and whimsical shapes, sculpted by time and the force of nature.

400 meters from the south wall, the boat stops. We all hold our breath, expectant. At one point, a rumble breaks the silence: a block of ice breaks off and rushes into the lake in an explosion of water and sound. The energy of the glacier is undeniable, its strength mesmerizing.
