Yuco Beach in San Martín de los Andes

They say Yuco Beach has all the resemblance to a Caribbean beach. The color and transparency of the water and the wooded environment go through all its wealth.

The emerald color of the waters of Yuco Beach resembles a Caribbean landscape, as a tropical setting. But the waters are cold, albeit warmer than other lake destinations, waters of Lake Lacar, which does not take away that we can dive in the middle of summer. It is a beautiful destination very close to San Martín de los Andes.

The journey to the Caribbean-toned beach is made through Route 48, about 30 km almost all of ripio following the northern bank of Lake Lácar, in the heart of Lanín National Park. Immersed deep in this park, Yuco is a place chosen for the feeling of secluded paradise, away from any urban environment, with all to win. Fate leaves speechless, natural backwaters and piletones invite you to enjoy Patagonian beauty, transparent waters infuse tranquility and peace. The beaches are white sands, protected from the winds, and a forest of arrayanes stands out that borders the banks.

Yuco used to be more solitary, but word of mouth and tourist notes are focusing this natural treasure in the national park for those visiting San Martín de los Andes. So, in summer season, you even have to arrive early to get room in the parking lot, where there is also a park ranger stall. From there, the journey is made by walking through a wooded environment of colihues and raulíes. The beach has a daytime recreation area with sector of tables, benches, stoves and toilets, although the stoves are suspended in times of great heat and drought. There are also several low-difficulty and well-signposted trekking trails. Being a pretty rugged place, it only has one simple stop. There is no further infrastructure and camping is prohibited. The Nonthué place is the place to make night in tent if you want, about 20 km later. Route 48 reaches hua hum, on the border boundary with the neighboring country, where the river of the same name that crosses the mountain range and takes these cold waters to Lake Pirihueico.
